Kelly Poelker
Kelly Poelker founded Another 8 Hours back in the early days of 2000. After 10 months of doing double duty for a full-time job and the business, she took the leap of faith to become full-time business owner and hasn’t looked back since. Kelly became one of the first VAs to achieve designation as a certified Master Virtual Assistant, moved the business to an outside office, put a solid team of professionals in place, built a successful six-figure business, co-founded the first ever industry conference under the name VA Conference, did some speaking at the conference as well as for colleges and other industry groups. For years she has coached, mentored and counseled countless virtual assistants and small business owners on a variety of issues.
Kelly is co-author of several books including:
- Amazon bestseller on becoming a virtual assistant, Virtual Assistant – The Series: Become a Highly Successful, Sought After VA;
- The VA-The Series Workbook Edition; as well as
- Working Virtually: A Guide to Working Remotely as an Employee
She also helped pen The Bizymoms Cookbook. She’s had the pleasure of being interviewed and quoted in a number of books and publications on virtual assistance such as Entrepreneur, The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Tribune, HOMEBusiness Journal, 101 Best Home-Based Businesses and Survive and Thrive, both by Priscilla Huff.
You may have heard her on The Mary Goulet Show, CWAHM Radio, Balance and Wisdom, or MomsTown Reality Radio.
Following her entrepreneurial spirit once again Kelly created Academy of Virtual Professionals LLC, a learning portal for virtual professionals whose
signature course is a 16-module training program based on VA-The Series.
Kelly is an active member of IVAA where she served on the Executive Board as Treasurer (2008-2011). She has also served on the board of several community organizations.
